front hubs

I came across a b1pw sitting roadside today so I stopped to check it out. It was in rough shape. I did notice the front hubs did not have anything on them to engage the front wheel drive, unlike mine. Does this mean I have lockout hubs and the b1pw did not? If someone could please give me a lesson on hubs I'd appreciate it. Thank you
