Many of it's engineering features appeared later on the M-37: very long, softer springs, frame extensions instead of a separate frame for winch models, steering box outside the frame and use of steering idler arm, 2 speed (1.96 low range) transfer case mounted from bottom wholly above lower edge of frame rails, integral waterproofing, provision for add-on fording kit, 2 inner windshields vs. 1 for WC-5X Dodges, among other items.
