I took a power steering box out of an early seventies Dodge Ram with the cast iron frame mount and bolted it "forward of the front wheel, facing back. I fabricated a "swing arm" out of 3/4" plate that hangs in the original steering box location. A drag link runs from the steering box to the topside of the swing arm and another runs from the bottom side of the arm back to the steering arm. Now it's a "push/pull" system. I had to use PTO u-joints to get the steering lined up. Also I'm running a smallblock V-8. I'm happy I went to the trouble and expense of doing this. Most of the expense was around having this "swing arm" fabricated at a machine shop. It's a piece of 3/4" plate that covers the frame opening with four bolt holes for mounting where the original steering box mounted. The plate hangs a little below the frame and there's a 1" frame bolt out of a logging truck that goes through the plate and is welded on the back. It's 6" long. The swing arm is about 8" long and has a 1" hole in the center and it "pivots" on the frame bolt. I used a bushing with a grease fitting, but a bearing would be better. Hime joints with threaded rods make up the drag links.
I'm sure there's many ways of doing this.

Good luck,

Bill
