OT Unidentifed Metal Object

I have a piece of metal that belonged to my Father for as long as I can remember. I use
it to straighten other metal objects. It is 4" by 3 1/2" by 10" solid, very heavy. The corners are square and sharp. The puzzeling part is that there are #s stamped into it on one side 89646 and just below that is T 18. Any guesses what these #s represent? This may not be too far off topic as I have used it working on my B-1.
