Front is a 9.5" aam similiar ring gear to chevy ifs, obviously with a different housing. 33 spline axles inner and outer I believe. Rear with the diesel is 11.5" ring gear again similiar to the chevy 14 bolt with larger ring gear. I think it has 30 spline axle shafts like a 14 bolt that are odd spline and 1.5 OD. Gas engine "Rams" use the 10.5" aam which is basically the 14 bolt chevy.
I was looking at Don in MO's brother's 5500 two weeks ago and wondering what axle and turns out they are not the same as Ford. the front is a Magna axle with 10-11/16" ring gear very heavy duty looking. I could not find much more on this axle other than that it is german. Rear axle in the 5500 was a spicer 111 ( I think ) HUGE axle.
I would love to learn more about that 5500 magna front axle it looks like it would be a seriously stout axle only problem might be the 10 lug bolt pattern.
