What do you use to water proof your truck dist and ballast reistor and spark plug wire, got 10 inch of rain and we are driving thru 2 to foot of water. I relocated the ceramic ballast resister to the dash glove box and carry 3 extras with me, seem like water hits them when they were under the hood on the firewall, I have a heavy about 15 rounds of some kind of plastic wrapped and taped with duct tape around the dist, i can remember what we used to use in the way of rtv to seal the dist housing, what would you use to waterproof the dist cap and any connection so that water cant ground out.. I seem to remeber we used to spray the spark plug wire with something as well to make sure they were not shorting due to water as well. I adjusted the water pump belt to where it wont windmill water on top of the hood to fall down on the carb and dist, it really tricky to get it to still cool the truck. Thanks for any new ideas and the name of source of any waterproofing products. 1964 powerwagon with 225 six banger and hummer tires is the ride. My 2007 4x4 cummins ram wont make it thru the water without tossing the belt or ruining the water pump from all of the stirred up soilds getting into the water pump fan beariing area, funny seeing a 64 antique truck outperforming a 2007 new one!!!
