Hi all,
I am about to move to Buffalo, NY and need a trailer to haul my Cummins 4BT, an L6-226 Willys engine, some furniture (that I will pick up along the way), a propane tank - basically everything the movers won't move. I have been wanting a flatbed trailer for some time and would like something I can later haul a Power Wagon with when I get one. I would also like to eventually be able to haul earth moving equipment when I buy a house.
I am leaning toward an 18 ft 10,000 lb gross rated trailer and found a brand new one for $2499 out the door. Is 10,000 lb rated (about 7,000 lb capacity?) overkill for hauling a Power Wagon, or just right? (The trailers with 2-3500 lb axles are about $1000 cheaper).
Also, I don't expect to load the trailer too much right now, but currently only have a 1/2 ton short bed Dodge pickup; would I be a fool to not have a brake controller right now or would that be a good thing to go on and invest in?
Thanks.
