I owned a lawn equipment shop for several years. Even a couple of years ago, ethanol in gas was starting to cause problems. It is much worse now.
Ethanol= quick death for small two stroke and small air-cooled engines.
1.It helps if you use mid grade or premium fuel. 2.Also helps to run Stabil all the time in your gas. 3.Never use gasoline that is over 30 days old in a small engine.
4. Drain all gas from engine and tank if you plan to let engine set unused for over 60 days.
These things help some, but there is no fix for this ethanol problem yet.
