Thanks guys, I have been at those same shows you described but this was a real 4X4 truck event and they even advertize it as redneck beergarden car smashing good time.
4X4 burnouts on a steel plate and pulling a 70k loaded dumptruck for fastest time in 100yd.
Best part the judges knew the roots of 4X4 and had great respect for the Power Wagon.
