Over the years I've learned that it is best to take 2 different sized saws when cutting. One rather light saw that you can limb up everything and a bigger saw to lay on the logs. My little one will do all the 16" and under and I'm constantly on and off throttle with that one. We normally average about 2 - 3 gallons of premix/day when sawing.
In 30 years of sawing I've had to replace only one plug on a saw that was 7 years old with original plug. (all Stihls) My Dads older Homelites use more plugs but most are 30 years old or older. The biggest killer of plugs is putting too much premix oil in the fuel or flooding when starting. Stihl goes with 50:1 now with their premix so build up is a lot less from the old days. The "More oil the better" is not true with these as all it does is gums stuff up and plugs the mufflers/spark arrestors quicker.
Every saw has it own routine to which it starts the easiest. Just takes some use to FIND what that combo is. With less than 2 hours use I'd say you just haven't found it yet. As others have said, if it always did this(how many times have you started it?) take it to the dealer and see what they say.
