v-8 water pump

This is the first time posting anything but I look on the forum everyday. This forum and the people on it have helped me a lot on my build. I am doing a 360 v8 conversion on my 1962 m-37. I am wondering if I need a short shaft water pump to make it fit or if the longer water pump will work?
