230 engine, 56 hp at 2800, 50 hp at 3500. 125 ft/lbs at 2,000, dropping in a straight line to 75 ft/lb at 3500.
I'd stick with the 237, more high end/more total.
Flat heads are intrinsically poor performers. Too much combustion chamber surface area, and the little 'transfer port' between valve area/combustion chamber and the piston top. Takes long time to get the 'push' to the piston.
