I wouldn't say "plenty of power", but I suppose they do alright. I would suggest not hot-rodding it, but just improving its overall reliability with modern parts. Things can include new, accurate guages (people underestimate this), electronic ignition, a nice exhaust and a balanced engine. A motor like that should be more than enough to keep you satisfied.
