Tom, I have never "bought" a Wal-Mart battery either. I always bought mine from a battery supply place, when I lived in western CO. But over here in the barren wastelands of eastern CO there is not many choices.
I am very glad Wal-Mart honored the warranty on the batteries even thought I didn't buy them new. I will keep that in mind when I need a battery for one of my old trucks.
