Greater chance of cracking than steel. But not as much as cast iron would. Mine was cracked in the bottom vane near the shaft bushing. So I drove the bushing out before proceeding to grind a weld prep, and braze with acetylene torch. If I unbent it a bit, I used a BFH. Mine was bent downward, used to have an A-frame, should be bent upwards? Used bushing re-installed, the wear allows for any mis-alignment. Line up grease hole with zerk. Hey, it was working before, whatn't it?
