all old flatheads will benefit with a regrind on the cam. they were originally designed for 70 octane fuel. shaving the head and having a bigger cam ground is a huge improvement and makes driving the truck more enjoyable. todays 89 octane is like rocket fuel for a flathead. you can run the timing around 8 to 10 degrees on modern fuel also. worth every penny. Delta Camshafts in Tacoma WA has great prices and will grind it anyway you want.
