No, on my way to San Jose the other day on the bus(marco polo(brazilian bus) the guy kept pulling this lever and the bus would slow down but there was no noise, so I asked him what it was and he said it was a magnetic drive line brake. I believe he also had a brake on the exhaust, how all this works is beyond me
