I had a 1949 Willys CJ2A. When I bought it, the driveshaft was out of phase. And, it had worked all of the bolts loose from the pulsation of the driveshaft. They were all lock-tabbed in and I have a feeling they were torqued properly as the previous owner was a good chap. I re-phased the driveshaft, retorqued the bolts and never had any more problems. When I found it, I have a feeling that I was less than a hundred miles from your situation.
