If history serves me correctly, WWII ended in 1945. The US Air Force was created from the Army Air Corps on September 18, 1947.
The item is identified as US Air Force, so it can't be from WWII.
Im betting it may be from the Korean or Vietnam conflict eras, but thats just a guess...
