Because i know what clean is and when I do engine work the parts are cleaner than the dishes I am so fussy when it comes to clean on mills . diesil will work but any chunks of sludge might be loosened , the only thing short of stripping and dipping the engine in a hot tank of soda would be steam cleaning next a hot water pressure wash or just plain old scrubbing . but you want insure you get all the junk out. i lost a great running 360 in my dodge van when a chunk finally plugged the oil screen and i lost oil pressure .
