My latches barely caught, and wore on the edge. The strikers ought to be shimmed out. Were/Are there shims ?
Copey, I welded the corners on mine, dunno if they were cast iron or steel, but the welds seem to have stuck. Little piece like that, and gas weld, it gets hot enough to work.
