About 5 years ago I heard an American scientest talking, on a radio program, about how the Russians had actually created crude oil by subjecting minerals (I believe one was granite which has a lot of carbon) and water to extremely high pressure. His point was that "fossil fuels", from these deep wells, was a false conclusion by the US and British oil industry.
