I had a similar problem when I was first getting my 360 ready for the road. It turnes out my distributer was worn out. I had a rough idle and missing at speed. I chased a nonexistant vacume leak for a month. I couldn't tell while the dist in the engine but when I had it on the bench in a vise it was easy to find.
