That is "correct for all values of negative ground".

Anyway, for positive ground, the + would go to the points. Could be applicable to a restorer who is maintaing proper polarity, circa 41 to umm 55? .
Backwards hook up to the coil will usually over heat the coil. Runs, but coils gets HOT.
