Here is an image of a Power-Wagon that was in my family for many years. My Grandfather's cousin fitted it with 20-inch Budd wheels off of a Ford model AA truck. No alterations had to be made to the lug size or pattern. Since the wheels were made by Budd, they fit right up to the Power-Wagon, as the Power-Wagon used the standard Budd lug pattern.
The tires in this image are size 8.25-20. I believe those being used by Arizona Steve are 9.00-20 - substantially larger.
With the 8.25-20 tires and the stock 5.83:1 gearing, the increase in road speed was 10%, or half of what one can expect when changing from 5.83:1 gears to 4.89:1 gears (20%).
Not all Ford AA trucks used Budd wheels. Not all Ford AA Budd wheels are the same width. Newer ones tended to be wider than earlier ones. The only alteration that my Grandfather's cousin made to his Ford wheels was to move the rims further out on the centers, changing the offset so they could no longer be dueled up. This maintained the turning radius of the truck and assured that the front tires would not hit the frame.
