differences of M37 and "Power Wagon"

I know this is a very basic question, but I have done a lot of searching and cant find the answer. Are there any differences in the M37 and Power Wagon other than color and maybe tire mount? Could I paint a PW OD Green and it be indistinguishable from an M37? Maybe add a winch and snorkel? Thanks.
