In high school (1959 or so), I helped a girl with a flat tire on her dad's car. This was on the right rear. I had no idea about left hand lug nuts, and it was dark. After struggling for a while on the first one, the stud finally broke. I took the broken piece to the light and could see the threads were backwards from any I had ever seen. I turned the other ones that way and they all came off easily. Someone must have misplaced them after a brake job.
