A two-barrel REALLY wakes up a /6, and improves fuel economy as well. I built a stroker 198 about eight years ago for my '84 D100 that would shred the tires (15x8 rims with 245/60R15 SUV tread) at the blip of the throttle, pull a car trailer like it was nothing, and get over 20mpg. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was pulling it out, selling it, and building the 360 I put back in its place. I added another 150 horsepower, but cut the fuel mileage to shreds, and lost all of the low-end torque the six had. I'd love to build another one someday.
