The tanks vary by year, so be careful when replacing one.
There is no way of repairing polyethylene short of welding it back together. Nothing bonds to it, except for a few specialized products that, unfortunately, dissolve in gas.
If you pull your tank, fill it with water TO THE BRIM, and use a small soldering gun to melt the plastic and form a gas-tight repair. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any remaining fuel fumes are explosive!!!!!!!!!
JB Weld DOES NOT WORK!!!! I don't care what others may say about it, JB is not designed for this kind of repair. Steel yes, PE, no.
And good luck finding a decent used replacement, for many are cracked in the same place as yours. You can buy a new one from www.dodgeconnection.com for about $150.00, but it will be for a 78-79 model year.
