Big blocks are notorious for leaking around the valve covers as they tend to hold oil in the heads. I trust you cleaned the oil return lines when you put the engine in didn't you?
The biggest problems other than valve covers on a BB are the oil sending unit at the rear top of the block, the oil pan if you used the car oil pan (the truck pan is a rear sump and the car is a middle sump unit) or it could be anything like a leaky transmission line or loose oil pan plug.
