...from what I have learned, all CB's are basically the same. The secret is 1.) Get one with big knobs. Nothing is worse than truckin'/bouncing down the road and having weeny knobs that you cannot adjust while your driving. 2.) Get a professional to do you areal installation and set-up. This way the radio will be tuned to your areal. 3.) A good CB shop for cash will get you fixed up with a booster. These are common in big trucks and it will increase your range substanially. 4.) As for my own preference, all I ever need is a volume and a skwelch (?) and channel choice. As for the range, with all these you MAY be able to go 5 miles on a flat and I have HEARD 20 with a booster. Hope I helped.
