I'm not sure on the differences between the motor homne and other engines as I've never fooled with them much. I do know the heads are slightly different because of the manifold angles needs.
On the truck and car engines, the truck has a rear sump oil pan. The car is a little farther forward. I had a Trailduster that someone had put a different 400 into and it had the front of the sump modified with a ball peen hammer. The truck also has the dip stick going into the oil pan and the hole in the block where it would go in a car is plugged with either a metal plug or silicone.
Both the car and truck engines would make good p[ower plants, but if you're dropping it into a truck, you MUST use the rear sump oil pan, dip stick and also the oil pickup tube inside.
