No, the guy doesn't know. There were 2 styles of 318, the older "wide block", and the still current LA engine. I say current because the Magnum engine is based on the LA engine of the last 30 years, but has some differences today compared to prior.
Try not to mix parts between the wide block and the LA. That shouldn't be too hard, since there are so few wide blocks still around.
