I got my ’49 running today. It’s been apart for about 5 years now, runs real nice with the exception of on oil leak from the oil filter's gasket. It’s just a little bit too small. I hope to find another one tomorrow.
I installed an electronic ignition a while ago and wow, what a spark. I cranked it over to get oil pressure, then checked the spark, reinstalled the coil wire in the distributor cap, hit the starter pedal and it started right up.
I was motivated today when I saw the cab in the spray booth of the body shop. Things are finally coming together.
