head gear and chaps are minimum ,good foot wear is a must . Dont drop the "dog" on the chain there is a specific measurement there and that keeps the saw from getting to grabby and the saw can get away from you .i touch my chain up every fill up ,Big saw big tank .A sharp saw is the key to cutting a lot of wood with out stressing the saw and wearing out bars and chains . A good saw like you bought will give a life time of service if you look after it clean clean clean is the key ~ Copey
