Though I did throw one rod through my distributor, I guess the middle ones do go too.

Some say that due to the long stroke, the crank itself acts as a centrifugal pump. They say the fix is to restrict the oil passages in the crank so that no single passage can suck the oil out of the other throws.

But I wonder if it's just those looong heavy rods, and looong heavy pistons just weigh sooo much their momentum does it to the little bitty rod bearings? Or the archaic head design menas pinging, which destroys the rod brgs? I know I had to retard the heck out of my advance curves to get it to stop pinging, maybe there is some kind of retrograde problem at higher-than-stock rpms, like they ping due to LATE timing at 4,000?
