The truck came from Salem, Indiana (from the last registered owner's address, anyway). However, I dunno where it was for the first thirty years of its life. The tires are 14.00-20 Goodyear Earthmover tires. I've read everywhere that they are 49.5" tall, but I measure them as a little smaller. The wheels LOOK homemade, but the more I investigate, they might indeed not be. I have the fenders of the WDX, in superb condition, which will be transplanted onto the '54 as long as they clear the tires. It's going to be a feat to get the 230 to lug the truck up some of my hills with the giant tires on it, I am sure! By the way- does anyone have a set of door locks/ignition switch/key they'd part with cheap? I don't have a key to either of my trucks, and I don't want a new key made- I want an old, original, worn out key for it. I'd gladly trade the locks, etcetera out of the truck, which I am sure are good. The only thing is that you'd need to have a key made.
Sorry for the rambling... I didn't feel like making a lot of posts!
