Interesting. You have the same brass coupling for the line to the oil pressure gauge that I have. I thought this was just some shade tree modification, but maybe not.
Nice photo. Would you post a photo of the right side of your engine? I can't figure out where the throttle return spring is supposed to anchor on the fire wall end of the spring.
