I can't speak to the origin of the pump other than it was sold to me by Midwest Military. So far the only differences I see are the bypass hole shape between the two pumps and this new pump does not sport a grease fitting like the old one. Grease-less bearings are fine with me.
I will send the final word and a picture when it is mounted and in service.
About the thermostat- I was under the impression the engine would run more efficiently and last longer if run at 180 degrees compared to 160 degrees...
