The 237 has the shortest stroke of all the American made flatheads. I plan to install an IND-7(237) in my WC-12 one of these days. I believe the Chrysler and Desoto blocks were longer because they had the straight Rods, not the smaller Plymouth and Dodge blocks, those had the offset rods. I might be full of s.... Let me know if I'm wrong. I talked to a fellow who had a 237 in his M-37. He swore by it. Says he could really rev it more than the other engines since it had a shorter stroke.
