Thanks, Keith... Well, I may be guilty of occassional light loads, but I do drive the hell out of my truck. I live in Houston, you have to use the freeway or tollway to go anywhere, so most of the time I'm cruising at 75mph. I have never had a DPF regeneration code, and I know some people who don't drive their truck hard have those problems.
I have suspected that I may have a turbo issue for some time, when holding a steady RPM sometimes the throttle lags or blips, then picks up again. It has done this since the second day after I traded my '04 2500 with a 5.9L for the dually. Everytime I have taken it in for the check engine light I explain this issue, and the tech blames it on something he can fix, and it still does it; usually when I'm leaving the parking lot of the dealership.
I have heard of alot of guys taking off and blocking the EGR valve on the 6.7L Cummins, claiming it reduces the tendency for soot and condensation build-up. This is my daily driver, so I hesitate at doing something drastic... or that I cannot fully comprehend. What do you think?
