rusted cab and frame

I have a very surfaced rusted cab and somewhat rusted frame and was wondering about the product vpw( http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/por-rust-prevention.htm )recommends and was curious about any second opinions. Almost sounds too good to be true. There may be similar product available here a friend told me about that turns the rust into a black coating on the metal and stops the rust.
