I wonder if the Hoods were painted black originally, and then the body color was sprayed over top of them?
Maybe this custom ford panel was front ended at one point, and someone swapped on a nose from a different/black truck, and spray bombed it red to match the rest of the truck?
I have ONLY seen this on Fords. Not Dodges, or Chevy's
