if you keep cracking manifolds, it is likely you have another problem causing the break. soft engine mounts and a stiffly mounted exhaust will do it. a properly designed engine install / isolated exhaust would not break under normal to moderate use. if you rock climb and drag the exhaust you can cause the breakage you are describing. proper mounts, flex couplings between the engine manifolds and exhaust pipes should be a good place to start. changing to headers will only mask a problem if there is one. good luck, mannyc
