I would try what Paul said with another supplier. It should be a little tight- mine went on without too much struggle but needed a little weatherstrip cement at the "V" areas to stay put.
I believe there is some variation in frames; I had to shim mine at the hinge to get the retractor to line up and work properly.
Also, be sure to get the gasket in "right" ways, as it is just as easy to put in backwards and even looks correct. However when backwards the windshield does not want to close as easily. Trust me I learned this the hard way.
