Sharp eyes indeed. The house I grew up in still had that type of service entrance. It also had separate wires running through the attic. The inside wires were no longer used, but still up there. Inside, it's called "knob and tube" for the ceramic tubes that guided the wire through joists and the knobs that held them clear of the surface.
