My Mothers older brother died at 18 from an infection due to a cedar splinter in his ear lobe. Hopefully would not happen today. Apparently not as good of drugs to combat infection as we have now. Glad they have improved as I spent a week in the hospital last July with a staph infection in my leg. Probably would not have survived on the drugs back then.
