I've seen bigger loads than that running on the private logging roads on Vancouver Island. The logging companies let you drive on the roads, but they are not responsible if they run you over or off the road. To emphasize the point, there's a flattened car with an 8 foot diameter cedar log on top of it near the north end of the private road at Port Hardy. There's also a big sign that says, "12 toots doesn't mean lunch time. Blasting Signal". They run easily twice a highway-legal load.
The picture here is a stick my grandfather hauled out of the Tillamook Burn in 1938.
