98 trucks went to electronic control ,97 have electronic transmission, 96-94 "should" be the same for 3/4 ton and 1 ton diesel. I'm in no way an expert but I have a 97 and know that starting 97 things changed 93 is a different truck. I imagine the gassers are all electronic
