I have an NOS gasket from Chrysler from about 1969 and it looks like a "fiber" type of gasket and it is also very thick. Very stiff gasket with no flex to it. Part number is 02402103 which I believe was the plate and the gasket?? Also, if the plate is even slightly warped...it will leak.
